PropertyLive hits 100,000
Peter Bolton King gives an update on NFOPP’s new property portal
The initial response to the new portal has been tremendous with excellent feedback both from members and the press.
When PropertyLive.co.uk was Beta launched in September, we made it very clear that we were going to tread gently and make sure that everything worked before increasing the quantity of property and releasing additional features. Although this has caused a little frustration to some members, it was absolutely the right thing to do. I am not aware that any other portal has launched with 3,000 branches already signed up with most having started from zero and having to build from this.
A few weeks on and everything is starting to really come together. As I write we have over 2,000 offices uploading some 100,000 properties. This means we are on target to reach 3,000 offices and 200,000 properties by the year end. This means we will hit our phase 1 target and reach the critical mass which allows us to send out a welcome pack with marketing material to all firms in early January. The NFoPP Board approved the portal in May following overwhelming support from members who clearly indicated they would market the site locally.
The distribution of the marketing pack will be the chance for members to really get behind the scheme, pushing the public message that PropertyLive.co.uk is the site to go to for property for sale and to let, commercial and overseas. As everyone has said, it will be you as members who will make the site a success and now is the time for everyone to grab the opportunity.
Our latest figures show that within our current membership we have the potential to have about 7,500 offices uploading perhaps 650,000 properties. That is also excluding the increasing numbers who want to join us in order to use PropertyLive.co.uk.
Remember the site is the only one featuring properties advertised by firms who are regulated by a professional body. It is free to Principal, Partner or Director members of NAEA, ARLA, ICBA, NAVA and NAEA International incorporating FOPDAc
